My First ISS Capture
Posted by: Stephen - 2009-01-14 21:15:09
I have been waiting to capture the ISS for a while now. I keep up with viewing opportunities via
heavens-above.com
and
calsky.com
so I knew tonight would be a perfect four minute pass and I finally got it!
Well, sort of. Since this is my first image I had not anticipated the brightness of the ISS and had the exposure set for way too long. So every picture but one turned out as a short, bright streak across the wide field of view. Here's an example of what will happen if the exposure is not setup properly before hand.
You can almost make it out in the next one, but again, since this was the first time I have tried this the focus is a bit off as well.

Perhaps I will try an afocal video capture the next time around.
